A – Profile
Elio Montanari was born in Ravenna, 4 March 1944
Freed from the weight of two thousand and five hundred years of history of Beauty, over the last thirty five years, as a photographer, he devoted his work to following artists at work so as to capture operations of the formal process through which the image takes shape , with the aim to find answers to questions like:
What is a Masterpiece? Is Essentiality an objective of the technique?
He has published his photographic documentiation in a large range of magazine and professional journals worldwide.
Since 1988 he also devoting his time to pursue chemical photography whose practical nowledge is based in the study of obsolete processes which he uses to reveal the substance of the Photographic.
As a consequence of his efforts to conjugate chemical photographic practice with photographic theory, he is invited to give speeches.
2001 He lives in İstanbul.
